Cheval des Andes
LIBRARY COLLECTION

The joint venture between Château Cheval Blanc and Terrazas de los Andes originated when Pierre Lurton, Cheval Blanc’s Director sought a special terroir outside of France in which to apply his deep knowledge of blending.

Lurton was captivated by the idea of unearthing a connection to Saint Émillion’s past. He found pre-phylloxera Malbec vines in Argentina, originally imported from Bordeaux.

Along with this discovery, and ambitious vision to forge a new path in international winemaking in Argentina emerged. Cheval Blanc’s reconnection with its past came into being with the first vintage of Cheval des Andes in 1999.

ÉDITION PARTICULIÈRE (N4)

One of the rarest cognacs that Hennessy has ever produced, Édition Particulière is blended from carefully selected eaux-de-vie that is over 100 years old. Very few barrels of spirit from the pre-phylloxera era remain, and they are the heart and soul of this extraordinary cognac of remarkable structure and expression. Adding to Hennessy’s rich history of creating intriguing historical blends, Alfred Fillioux—the great grandfather of the maison’s 7th generation Master Blender Yann Fillioux and the great grand uncle of current Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde—conceived the very first edition of this exceptional blend.

Eaux-de-vie that has matured in barrels for more than 100 years bring depth and concentration to the blend, while the addition of younger spirits adds finesse and youthfulness to the palate. The unusual profile presents a highly distinctive bouquet of subtle spices with aromas of clove and Szechuan pepper. The outstanding structure of the palate is characterized by flavors of dried fruits and fruit preserves, apricot, and prune. The long, persistent finish is marked with notes of seasoned wood and finegrained leather.

Each bottle is made of pure Baccarat crystal with a special seal handcrafted by the skilled artisans at Maison Guerlain and presented in a precious coffret hand made by a leather artisan.
